Nations Shall Come To Our Light

By Francis Frangipane

Many thanks for the hundreds of encouraging responses to our message about America and Israel. Each of you who wrote greatly encouraged me. I would urge you, even as you pray for many other nations, and Iraq in particular, that you continue to pray for God’s best for the USA and Israel. Although the proposal (or road map) for a Palestinian State isn’t even to take effect until 2005, and the US government is not approaching Israel with a mandate, but with suggestions, let us pray for wisdom and humility for all. I believe the Lord will provide an answer that will secure Israel’s borders and homeland, while also providing for the Palestinian peoples. Remember, with God, all things are possible.

As I predicted, a small handful of zealous Christians have taken what I wrote about Israel and the US and, sadly, completely misunderstood it. In their fears, they sent a very skewed analysis of my message to their constituencies, sowing a lot of unnecessary division. You know that I never mention the names of people who slander or twist what I say, but if you are confused by the remarks of Mr. A.B., please understand that, in his legitimate zeal for Israel, he has misunderstood both my words and intentions. Before the Lord I have forgiven him, and I urge those of you who have read his words to forgive him as well. The last thing we want is a division among those of us who love Israel and are praying for her destiny.

Finally, for those few of you who are sure that America will soon abandon Israel, please do not lose your trust in God. Turn on your local news and look at what America is doing, at least partially, on behalf of Israel. Consider how many times Israel and the USA are mentioned together. We are fighting a regime in Iraq that has sought to destroy Israel, and we are going after the nations that are protecting terrorist groups that are avowed enemies of Israel. Those who warn that when it gets tough, America will back out, let me say this: it is tough and we have not back out. We are paying a price in blood, passion and tears; the least you can do is pay the price of gratitude, if not to America, at least to God for providing so great a nation on Israel’s behalf.

Again, for those few who think my correction of the extremes is a form of "muzzling the prophets", let me say that if the possibility of dividing Israel’s land comes near, I will be the first to personally warn the President of the USA that such action is wrong; that is, if I can get in line ahead of the other thousand Evangelical leaders in America who will also warn him. To the prophets who fear muzzling, let me say: beware you don’t confuse muzzling with correction. If you separate the precious from the vile, then you will become God’s spokesman. It is the role of the apostolic to balance the prophet. Each of us should be aware that, in one respect, prophets live between the "reality that is" and a host of possible future realities. They announce warnings of what could occur, often sensing and fearing things that are much further away from the present. As a result, they sometimes are very concerned about things that, to others, seem only minimally significant in the present world; yet, their warnings should be heeded as legitimate, even if the timing is premature.

However, we should never magnify what the devil might do above what God is doing. God is currently raising a prayer army that is the most powerful force in the universe. The future of the world exists in the prayers of the saints, and millions of Christians worldwide are praying for Israel and the last great harvest. Beloved, do not doubt the power of this prayer. Indeed, in whatever you consider will occur before Jesus returns, inject the reality of a revival in America. It is coming and will manifest. It is in this last great outpouring on our land that we all will understand the mystery of Israel and the church. This is why I plead, be patient with your judgment with the USA and with Israel.

To all, no matter which nation you are from, let me suggest that you go online or use a concordance and look up the word nations, as it occurs in the Psalms and Prophets. We think that the only thing awaiting the peoples of the world is wrath and judgment. Please read the whole of what God has said concerning the nations and what God has prepared for them since the coming of Christ. I made a brief, not exhaustive, survey of the scriptures, and in my incomplete study found more prophecies that speak of the Lord’s mercy for the nations than His judgment or wrath. It is a powerful, liberating study. What the Lord is doing today in the world is an awesome thing, a new thing, and a God thing. It is good news.

I do not believe that all nations will abandon Israel or soon line up to attack and scatter the Jews -- I TOTALLY do not believe the USA will. As I have said over the last several years: God is using the USA and our allies to confront demonically infested Islamic terrorism. The Almighty used the USA and our allies to end Japanese Imperialism, Nazi Germany’s quest for world domination, and the Soviet Empire’s attempt to rule the world. Even so, Islam’s quest for world domination will be subdued as well. The gospel of Christ will be preached to all the world for a witness to all nations, and then the events of the end will take place. Today, the Lord’s focus is on opening up the Islamic world for the gospel. Please do not lose your peace or open up to fear or judgment. It’s time to pray for the harvest of the nations!

What I believe is coming I wrote about in the book, The Days of His Presence. We are on the verge of seeing the fulfillment of Isaiah 60:1-3, which reads:

Arise, shine; for your light has come,
And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
For behold, darkness will cover the earth,
And deep darkness the peoples;
But the Lord will rise upon you,
And His glory will appear upon you.
And nations will come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.

Let’s focus our faith on the coming glory of God, not the darkness of which we are afraid. Beloved, the Lord’s promise is true: Nations shall come to our light and kings to the brightness of our rising!
